Product Features

1. Modular Versatility
At I’m In the Garden, one of our primary criteria is modular design for most versatility. That means our Path & Patio Tiles can work shoulder-to-shoulder with a Threshold Mat. Tiles can migrate seasonally, from outdoor paver to indoor plant stand.

Why modular? Because we want you to be FREE!
• rearrange things on a whim
• let your garden evolve and grow organically over time & space
• pack up your Path and Patio Tiles if you move
• use on an apartment roof-top and at a Northwoods cabin

2. Best Wood Available
That’s a big claim, but at I’m In the Garden, we stand behind it. We use the best wood available for outdoor products.

  • Redwood
    • a species prized for its natural weather and rot resistance
  • Old Growth
    • originally giant, slow-growing specimens, not plantation wood
  • Heartwood
    • from the tree’s core, where wood has the tightest grain and highest decay-resistance (see blurb at right)
  • 100% Reclaimed
    • salvaged and resawn from N. American pickle brining tanks
  • American-Grown
    • and American-harvested, -milled, -deconstructed, -remilled and –assembled
  • FSC* Certified
    • we buy our wood from Duluth Timber Company, which sells FSC chain-of-custody certified 100% recycled wood (*Forest Stewardship Council).

At I'm In the Garden, we use North American reclaimed wood
that causes no further deforestation, here or in the tropics.

3. Lasting & Maintenance Free
All I’m In the Garden products are designed to be left outdoors year-round, in Minnesota winters or Florida summers. Left as is, our reclaimed redwood products weather to a silver patina. Oiled, they hold auburn and chocolate tones. (Other finishes are not recommended. See FAQs at left.) Glued with marine-grade stainless steel fasteners. Simply rinse with garden hose. Can be stacked and stored till spring, for even more years of beautiful use.

Hassle-Free Return Policy for all merchandise returned within 60 days of purchase.

*Duluth Timber Company, one of the oldest reclaimed wood businesses in North America, will receive certification from the Forest Stewardship Council in June, 2009. DTC reclaims wood from America's “industrial forest”—warehouses, piers, and tank stock.

Slow Grown Redwood = Best Native Wood for Outdoor Structures

Slow-grown redwood rates #1 for natural decay resistance, according to a recent study by the Forest Products Lab. That puts our wood ahead of North America’s other native, rot-resistant species – cedar and cypress.

WoodWalks’ reclaimed redwood was originally selected from old-growth, slow-growing forests. Ours has the highest natural decay resistance. No chemicals. No preservatives. Just good wood.
